Project PA: Foster Youth Fight for Education Rights

Ishale Watson is currently enrolled at a fifth high school and, at 19-years-old, has yet to earn a diploma.

“It’s real frustrating, because I want to go to college and I was supposed to graduate last year. Then I was supposed to graduate this year and I still haven’t graduated,” Watson said. Watson says many credits didn’t transfer since the coursework was different at each school.

These youth and their supporters hope state legislators support Senate Bill 662, which would help ease those burdens and ensure they graduate on time.
