Videos released by court show Wisconsin teen inmates being pepper sprayed

Videos showing two teen inmatesgetting hit with pepper spray were made public Thursday as part of an ongoing lawsuit over Wisconsin's controversial juvenile prison complex.

The videos played a role in a federal judge ruling last month that constitutional rights are likely being violated at Lincoln Hills School for Boys and Copper Lake School for Girls, which share a campus 30 miles north of Wausau.

The release of the videos come as the state Department of Corrections and the inmates who brought the suit work on a plan to implement a sweeping decision by U.S. District Judge James Peterson to curb the use of pepper spray, solitary confinement and restraints at Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake.

The plan is due Friday. The inmates are being assisted by the American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin and the Juvenile Law Center.
