McGovern: Statutory status called into question

Massachusetts law currently allows a child under the age of 16 to be charged with statutory rape for having sex with someone who is the same age or younger — but now the state’s highest court will consider a case asking whether or not it’s constitutional.

And child-rights advocates are already lining up to have their voices heard.
