Judge Harvey Bartle III of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Monday issued an opinion and order allowing nearly all of the claims in the Derrick et al. v. Glen Mills Schools et al. class action to move forward, according to a press release from The Education Law Center, Juvenile Law Center, and Dechert LLP.

Kate Burdick, senior attorney at Juvenile Law Center., called this "the right decision for youth. There must be a path to a remedy for the physical, emotional, and educational harm youth suffered – all of which have lifelong consequences,” she said.
