Juvenile Delinquency Rates Continue to Fall in Midland County

A downward trend in the amount of juvenile delinquency cases handled by Midland County's Family Court continued through 2018, according to a recently released annual report.

In 2018, the 42nd Circuit Court Family Division handled a total of 72 adjudicated offenses, a substantial decrease from the 324 handled in 2004. According to the Juvenile Law Center, an adjudication in juvenile court is similar to an adult criminal conviction, but typically does not subject the juvenile to the same direct and collateral consequences.
