Juvenile advocates launch website

Juvenile officials throughout the nation developed innovative programs to address the problem, but there was no easily accessible means to share that information with other jurisdictions, Burdick said. That changed with the recent launch of the website Blueprint for Change: Education Success for Youth in the Juvenile Justice System (www.jjeducationblueprint.org). It was developed by the Juvenile Law Center, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Educational Law Center-Pa and the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law.

“The website centralizes hundreds of resources relative to juvenile justice and education that were previously scattered,” Burdick said. “We find good work is being done in different places, but the right hand does not talk to the left hand.”
