"Dave said his focus was to get the case transferred to juvenile court," Elisco said "When that happened, he had to leave. I was fortunate to find Steve to take his place."

The defense, which has been pro bono — without charge —throughout, was also joined by the Juvenile Law Center of Philadelphia, which takes high-profile cases.

"Their focus, too, had been on moving the case to juvenile court," Elisco said. "To their credit, they remained on board and committed, continuing even after the case was adjudicated to the juvenile court and throughout the appeals."
