Settlement Reached In Lincoln Hills Federal Lawsuit

The Department of Corrections has filed a settlement agreement in a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Juvenile Law Center over conditions at Lincoln Hills School.

That federal lawsuit was filed in January 2017. In it, the ACLU and Juvenile Law Center had asked a judge to limit solitary confinement, the use of mechanical restraints and pepper spray, arguing their continued use amounted to unconstitutional cruel and unusual punishment.
