Civil Rights & Child Welfare Groups Gear Up to Fight Attempts to Legalize Bans On Gay Adoption

The nation’s civil rights organizations, religious groups, and child welfare organizations are going to war over the Republican proposal to allow adoption agencies to discriminate against LGBTQ people.

More than 200 of them joined the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in a letter to members of Congress yesterday opposing legislation that would authorize discrimination in the child welfare system.
