50TH ANNIVERSARY: LEADERSHIP FUND
Your gift will honor CEO Sue Mangold to fund our strategic initiatives and build a pool of unrestricted funds which will provide organizational flexibility.
It is with both sadness and gratitude that we share the news that after nearly 10 years at Juvenile Law Center, Susan Mangold will retire from her role as CEO. Under Sue’s leadership, Juvenile Law Center continues its tradition as the Nation’s preeminent legal advocacy organization for children in the justice and child welfare systems. Despite the multitude of social, political, and environmental disruptions with the COVID pandemic and co-occurring challenges, Sue has led the organization through these extremely challenging times, successfully pivoting when needed to meet the changing needs of clients and maintain the focus and effectiveness of the organization.
Nationally, Juvenile Law Center continues to lead the field in legal strategy and policy advocacy to promote equity and fairness, harm prevention, access to appropriate services and opportunities for success and well being of justice and child welfare involved youth. Juvenile Law Center advances reform and transformation nationwide on behalf of teens and young adults who are most likely to be marginalized, vilified, and neglected by the systems and services that are supposed to keep them safe.
Sue’s dedication to the mission and vision of Juvenile Law Center has been remarkable and evident throughout her tenure. As a leader, she has been consensus driven and collaborative, building a dedicated team who will successfully carry the mission of Juvenile Law Center forward. We have an excellent Board and staff. We have a “vigorous” and exciting strategic plan that will guide us into the future.
At a nonprofit, raising money can take years and is a constant challenge. Sue hopes to leave funding for the next CEO to be able to pivot and address identified needs immediately while fundraising to sustain the efforts.
Please consider a generous one-time donation to the Juvenile Law Center Leadership Fund in honor of Sue's retirement.
For 50 years, we have worked toward a world in which all kids can thrive. Help us continue the fight!
