Services: Provides services related to education, children with disabilities, employment, and child welfare for Allegheny county.

HUD

Services: HUD is a federal program that provides housing support for individuals in need such as rental programs (including Section 8) and home ownership assistance programs.

Services: PAHousingSearch.com is a website in which affordable housing can be searched and located within in PA.

Northwest Human Services

Services: NHS provides residential living options, case/care management, and therapeutic services for individuals with disabilities.

Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh

Services: Emmaus currently operates four homes serving 12 individuals with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities. Also offer respite services and supervised apartment living.

Genesis of Pittsburgh

Services: Offers range of services for those facing an unplanned pregnancy -shelter, counseling, classes in prenatal care, childcare and parenting.

Transitional Services, Inc.

Services: provide residential support and services to individuals in Allegheny County with disabilities

Catholic Charities Diocese Of Pittsburgh

Services: CCDP is a social service agency offering services in housing, adoption, counseling, safety and stability, health care for the uninsured, housing and homeless, pregnancy and parenting, refugee and senior services. For housing, mainly serving residents of Bulter County, programs such as Safe Harbor Program, HOPE Program, PATH Transitional-Age Project for Young Adults and St. Joseph's House of Hospitality are offered, serving individuals with supportive and transitional housing with a shelter up to two months. Fair Housing/Equal Opportunity at HUD

Services: Hotline service for individuals to report incidences of housing discrimination.

Urban Redevelopment Authority

Services: Provides low-interest loans and below interest mortgages to eligible residents who wish to become first time home owners.

Supportive Relocation Program

Services: Provides case management services, relocation and tangible assistance for homeless individuals and families. Clients must have a stable source of income and an agreement to comply with the comprehensive case management plan to be eligible.

Pittsburgh Project

Services: Provides minor repairs, including drywall, painting, and gardening for the owner-occupied homes of those who physically or financially cannot do the work for themselves. Focus is on the elderly.

LIHEAP (low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)

Services: Provides grants to people on a low or fixed income to pay for fuel bills. Offers financial assistance for weather related emergencies such as furnace repair, gas or fuel line repair, hot water heating system repair, and more.

Hosanna Industries

Services: Provides construction services (including disability access improvement) for needy qualified low-income households. Also offers disaster relief services.

Central Relocation Agency

Services: Puts together a weekly list of low-cost, market-rate rentals in Allegheny County. List is available every Monday morning.

Action Housing

Services: Life skills emergency housing and tangible assistance for those leaving shelter or bridge housing programs. Life skills, job development, and youth programming for residents of several public housing areas.

Making Homes Affordable

Services: National nonprofit organization aiming to prevent home foreclosure and reduce monthly payments for eligible individuals and families

Three Rivers Youth

Services: Shelter and outreach programs for runaway and homeless youth such as The Loft (ages 12 through 17), Transitional Living Program (ages 16-21), the Hub Outreach Center (ages through 18-21), Family Partnership Program (Children, Youth and Families and who are at risk for one of more of their children being placed outside of the home), Therapeutic Group Homes (ages 12-18 years who have been victims of abuse and neglect)

Family Links Runaway Youth Outreach and Shelter

Services: Family Links provides housing options for low-income families, individuals with mental health disabilities or are recovering from substance abuse. Programs include Penn Free Bridge Housing (free housing 18 and up who are homeless and in recovery from substance abuse), Shelter Plus Care Program (permanent supportive housing and case management services for individuals and families that are homeless and have disabilities and/or substance abuse) and Rental Housing Assistance (free two and three bedroom housing).

Woman's Place

Services: Provides shelter to victims of domestic violence. Offers assistance in obtaining a PFA as well as other legal and medical issues. Provides crisis intervention. Offers counseling to victims.

Bridges To Independence, Deborah House

Services: Provides shelter to single female heads of household and their children. Provides housing for 6-12 months for 15 women and their children.

Familylinks Downtown Outreach Center

Services: Provides safe shelter, meals, clothing, and medical care to homeless or runaway children.

Light Of Life Shelter

Services: Light of Life Ministries provide overnight shelter along with a morning and evening meal, bathing facilities, clean clothing, chapel services and the opportunity to receive case management.

East End Cooperative Ministries

Services: EECM provides several housing services for displaced and/or homeless individuals such as Men's Emergency Shelter, Families Achieving Independence Through Housing Program, Bridge Housing Program, PennFreeHousing Program, SAFE HAVEN Program and the Orr Compassionate Care Center

Bethlehem Haven

Services: Bethlehem Haven provides emergency shelter; transitional housing; permanent supportive housing; medical, dental, obstetrics and mental health services; as well as employment services to women in the Pittsburgh area. The Haven also provides some medical, mental health and employment services to non-residents, including homeless men.

Miryam's

Services: Miryam's offers housing, transitional housing units and supportive services to women with mental illnesses.

Whale's Tale Homeless Shelter

Services: Whale's Tale provides emergency shelter for homeless youth along with case management, clothing, food, counseling and more

East End Cooperative Ministry

Womanplace Domestic Transitional Shelter

Services: Womansplace offers victims of domestic violence a place to stay while they transition to safer housing, along with services of case management, counseling and advocacy, information and referrals.

Debra House Shelter for Women and Children

Services: The Debra house is a transitional housing facility where homeless mothers and children may stay up to 15 months. They provide life skills training, counseling, case management, and other support services.

Services: Offers services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as early intervention, supported employment, job training, transition planning, respite care, supported living and transportation

Step By Step, Inc.

Services: Step by Step, Inc provides intensive case management and supportive living services for mentally ill and developmentally disabled individuals. Residential living options include Lifesharing, Community Homes, Supportive Living and more.

Lifesteps, Inc.

Services: Lifesteps provides services such as residential living and day programs for adults with developmental disabilities with community homes and life sharing in seven counties

Harbor Of Light

Services: Provides housing for single mothers ages 18+ who are seeking a degree in higher education. Also provides counseling and life skills training.

Garfield Jubilee Association

Services: Provides housing units for rent or sale to low and moderate-income families willing to relocate to Garfield. Offers housing and financial counseling as well as energy assistance for Equitable Gas and Duquesne Light.

Allegheny County Rehabilitation Corporation (AHRCO)

Services: Provides a housing management program which offers subsidized and non-subsidized housing in specific neighborhoods of the county.

Sister

Services: Provides permanent and transitional supportive housing for homeless single mothers and their children.

Services: Provides financial assistance with first month

Family Links' Penn Free Bridge Housing

Services: Penn Free Bridge Housing offers secure housing to people ages 18 and older who are homeless and in recovery from alcohol or drug abuse for up to a year. The program also offers supportive services in areas such as employment, education, transportation, counseling, legal issues, medical support and household needs. Program will include random urine tests.

Family Links' Shelter Plus Care Program

Services: Shelter Plus Care Program provides permanent housing and case management services for people and families that are homeless and have disabilities, including mental health issues and/or substance abuse.

Open Arms

Services: Open Arms provides homeless individuals and families permanent housing combined with supportive services such as case management, food and more.

Bethlehem Haven

Services: Bethlehem Haven provides emergency shelter; transitional housing; permanent supportive housing; medical, dental, obstetrics and mental health services; as well as employment services to women in the Pittsburgh area. Services:

Works to provide affordable homeownership and rental apartment options for older adults, low- and moderate-income families, and people with special housing needs. 

Direct VA Loans

Services: Supports veterans in utilizing their entitlement to veteran and active duty benefits for VA home loans as well as other government-backed mortgage programs.

Services: HEMAP is a loan program assisting in foreclosure prevention and mortgage assistance.

National Runaway Switchboard

Services: Toll-free, nationwide hot-line for runaways and troubled youth. Provides information and referral for shelter, counseling, medical and legal services and transportation back home. The hot-line also provides a personal and confidential message relay service between runaways and their families.
