Sponsored Fellowship Opportunities

Description: Juvenile Law Center may sponsor attorney candidates for post graduate public interest fellowships provided by the Skadden Fellowship Foundation, Open Society Institute Criminal Justice Initiative or other outside fellowship funding organizations. We are particularly interested in sponsoring a fellow to work on our conditions, including education, for youth in the adult criminal justice system, but will work with the selected candidate to develop a project proposal that matches the candidate’s interests, goals, and experiences.

The Sol and Helen Zubrow Fellowship in Children’s Law

Description: The Zubrow Fellowship is the only post-graduate fellowship that provides an opportunity to engage in a wide variety of advocacy efforts on behalf of children in the delinquency and dependency systems.

Operations Associate

Description: Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Associate provides administrative support by conducting foundation research, preparing grant application materials and grant reports, handling information requests and performing clerical functions such as coordinating travel, scheduling meetings, preparing meeting agendas and other materials, and other administrative duties as assigned.  The Operations Associate would also assist with individual donor prospect research, special event projects, and other administrative tasks.

Paralegal Internships

Description: Paralegal interns assist with Juvenile Law Center’s very active caseload of amicus and appellate litigation by researching relevant court rules, drafting motions and other pleadings, citechecking and Bluebooking briefs, and providing additional litigation support as necessary.

Law & Policy Clerkships (Professional School Student Opportunities)

Description: Clerks assist Juvenile Law Center attorneys in researching issues about children's rights, writing legal and policy memoranda, preparing training materials, supporting ongoing litigation and legislative initiatives, and responding to requests for assistance.
