Rachel Berger grew up in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.A. in Urban History & Policy in 2016. As a student she interned at New York Legal Aid, New-York Historical Society, and Center for American Progress in DC.
From 2016-2017, Berger was a Philly Fellow at the Pennsylvania Prison Society. Her role there included capacity-building and program support for a re-entry peer mentoring program for individuals returning to Philadelphia from SCI Chester and SCI Graterford. Since then, she has stayed active with local criminal justice reform efforts in Philly. In her spare time, she loves to cook and watch animated movies, and she is training to be a bike tour guide of Philadelphia.
