Understanding & Implementing Act 1 Webinar

In January 2022, the PA General Assembly enacted Act 1 of 2022 (Act 1) which requires school entities to provide additional support and protection to students who experience “education instability” due to homelessness, involvement in the foster care or juvenile justice systems, or court-ordered placements. The law seeks to remove barriers to fully participating in school and ensures that students are not penalized due to lost or unrecognized credits or the inability to take a course required by their current school. This presentation will provide an overview of the Act’s requirements, point to key guidance documents and implementation tools, and address participants’ questions about implementation.
