Northwest Human Services

Services: NHS provides residential living options, case/care management, and therapeutic services for individuals with disabilities.

Elwyn

Services: Elwyn provides information and referral services in regards to residential services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Pennsylvania. Also provide work opportunities and adult day programs for people with disabilities.

Fair Housing/Equal Opportunity at HUD

Services: Hotline service for individuals to report incidences of housing discrimination.

Making Homes Affordable

Services: National nonprofit organization aiming to prevent home foreclosure and reduce monthly payments for eligible individuals and families

YWCA Greater Harrisburg

Services: YWCA offers shelter and support services for victims of domestic violence and their children. Residential services include Emergency Shelter, Bridge Housing, Permanent Living Disabilities, Single Room Occupancy, and Transitional Living

Bethesda Mission

Services: Bethesda Mission offers two separate emergency shelters for men and women and children along with programs for those residents with substance abuse issues.

The Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families

Services: The Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Harrisburg offers The Interfaith Shelter for Families offer families emergency shelter for up to 90 days.

Susquehanna Safe Haven

Services: Safe Haven provides housing for single men who have had two or more bouts of homelessness and who have a diagnosed mental illness.

Shalom House

Services: Shalom House provides temporary shelter for women and children, providing bed, food, clothing, health and hygiene supplies, and a temporary address and telephone number

Association of Retarded Citizens (ARC)

Services: Offers services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as early intervention, supported employment, job training, transition planning, respite care, supported living and transportation

Lourdes Maternity House

Services: The Lourdeshouse Maternity Home offers shelter and services to pregnant women along with counseling, adoption placement, parenting education, pre/post-natal care, education, work experience and aftercare planning. Lourdeshouse Maternity Home also operates a community pantry providing food, clothing and furniture to expectant parents or families with children up to 12 months of age.

Community Services Group

Services: Services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnoses including residential services, employment services, adult day programs, outpatient treatment, peer support, and psychiatric rehabilitation. Residential services include Community Residential Rehabilitation, Enhanced Personal Care Home, Supported Housing and Long Term Structured Residence

AMiracle4Sure

Services: AMiracle4Sure is a nonprofit organization providing transitional housing to women in need.

Trinity House

Services: Trinity House is a transitional housing facility for male graduates of Bethesda Mission’s life-changing character development programs.

Evergreen House

Services: The Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Harrisburg offer Evergreen House which is a transitional living program for women in recovery from addiction. The program includes housing and meals, information and referrals, counseling and 12 Step Program.

Brethren Housing Association

Services: The Brethren Housing Association offers several housing programs such as Transitions, Fast Track and Next Steps. The programs are for homeless mothers and their children,and also include case management, counseling and advocacy, information and referrals

Choice Living

Services: Choice Living offers transitional living to female offenders and women struggling with addiction

Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency

Services:

Works to provide affordable homeownership and rental apartment options for older adults, low- and moderate-income families, and people with special housing needs. 

Direct VA Loans

Services: Supports veterans in utilizing their entitlement to veteran and active duty benefits for VA home loans as well as other government-backed mortgage programs.

Homeowners' Emergency Mortage Assistance Program

Services: HEMAP is a loan program assisting in foreclosure prevention and mortgage assistance.

National Runaway Switchboard

Services: Toll-free, nationwide hot-line for runaways and troubled youth. Provides information and referral for shelter, counseling, medical and legal services and transportation back home. The hot-line also provides a personal and confidential message relay service between runaways and their families.
