Juvenile Law Center Selected as Leading High-Impact Nonprofit in National Survey

Juvenile Law Center,

A nationwide group of 127 criminal justice experts recently selected Juvenile Law Center as one of the leading high-impact nonprofits working in criminal justice in the United States. Experts were asked to consider nonprofits from a local/state perspective and identify those whose work on criminal justice issues had the highest impact. Nonprofits eligible for consideration ranged from legal defense organizations and advocacy groups to communications strategy organizations.

Experts were surveyed by Philanthropedia, a nonprofit organization working to improve nonprofit effectiveness by directing money to and facilitating discussion about expert-recommended, high-impact nonprofits. Earlier this year, Philanthropedia was acquired by Guidestar, the industry leader in nonprofit data with a national audience of millions of professionals, funders, advisers, and individuals. As a result of this honor, Juvenile Law Center will be highlighted on Philanthropedia's website and on the GuideStar Take Action website as one of the best nonprofits in the criminal justice sector. Donors will be able to view that designation and read expert reviews about Juvenile Law Center's impact and organizational strengths.

Some of the experts' comments about Juvenile Law Center include: "Juvenile Law Center has accomplished tremendous things in Pennsylvania that no other state-level juvenile justice organization has been able to accomplish. They have worked hard to communicate the strategies for their success to others nationwide." "Juvenile Law Center has changed numerous laws in Pennsylvania related to youth involved in both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems ... They provided legal expertise in cases across the country related to juvenile justice issues that resulted in positive decisions leading to many systemic changes."
