We are excited to announce that donations made between December 21 – December 31 will be doubled thanks to a generous $5,000 matching donation from Kenneth and Ann Krogulski. This means we have the potential to raise $10,000 in 10 days!

Around this time nine years ago, the Krogulski family made a generous donation after hearing about Juvenile Law Center’s work in the Luzerne County “kids for cash” controversy. As active members of the Luzerne community, they were shocked by the unconstitutional practices and alleged financial kickbacks that hurt thousands of youth in their area. Donations like Ken and Ann’s funded hundreds of hours of work, travel, and advocacy over many years in the Luzerne case. We won that battle, but the Krogulskis know we’re still doing important legal advocacy and have remained wonderful supporters.

Looking back on that case – when we won before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, seeking justice for thousands of youth – it’s easy to think the worst is behind us. But our work isn’t finished. Young people need strong, vigilant advocates who look out for their rights, expose injustice, and respond swiftly.

Our persistence worked in Luzerne, and it continues to deliver results across the country. In the past year, we’ve won 8 cases before state Supreme Courts in Pennsylvania, California, Texas, Ohio, and Florida. We have nearly 50 active cases in 18 states, and our team of 13 attorneys is working on important issues affecting hundreds of thousands of young people in foster care and the justice system.

This year, your gift can stretch twice as far if you give by December 31. Please join the Krogulskis and donate today.
