Dominique Mikell, AM

Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellow

Dominique Mikell joined the Juvenile Law Center in September of 2016 as a Stoneleigh Fellow. Dominique’s fellowship project focuses on examining the statewide implementation of extended foster care in Pennsylvania after the enactment of Act 91. In addition to studying implementation, Dominique will develop an advocacy plan designed to encourage policy reform so more youth can benefit from extended foster care services across the state.

Dominique earned her master’s degree in social work at the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration with a focus on child welfare and program evaluation. While at the University of Chicago, Dominique worked as a research assistant for the seminal California Youth Transition to Adulthood (CalYOUTH) Study led by Dr. Mark Courtney to evaluate the implementation of California’s recently enacted extended foster care legislation.

Before starting social work school Dominique attended Stanford University where she studied Philosophy and graduated with Honors from the Graduate School of Education.
